Bemerkung |
This course explores various practices in the digital arts and sciences where music is primarily created in, represented by, or disseminated as computer code. Disciplines in this domain include generative music, live coding performances, computational musicology, data sonification, web audio application programming, and other emerging fields. Working on our personal laptops and with Free/Libre Open Source Software, we will highlight one such area and explore, in depth, a specific programming environment for that purpose, such as SuperCollider, Pure Data, Python, the Web Audio API, Sonic Pi, or others. No previous programming experience required; students of all backgrounds are welcome!
